Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Yummonom at yummonom.com and any associated mobile applications (collectively, "the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where required, notify you by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Description of Service

Yummonom is an AI-powered recipe generation and cooking platform. The Service includes, but is not limited to:

  • AI-generated recipe creation from text prompts
  • Leftovers mode — generating recipes from ingredients you already have
  • Interactive step-by-step cooking guidance with built-in timers
  • Shopping list management
  • Community recipe browsing, saving, rating, and photo sharing
  • Personalised pantry and dietary preference management

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account and use the Service. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have parental or guardian consent to use the Service.

4. User Accounts

To access most features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintain the security and confidentiality of your login credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that have been inactive for an extended period.

5. Free Tier and Subscriptions

5.1 Free Tier

Free accounts receive a limited number of AI recipe generations per calendar month (currently 3). Other features such as browsing communal recipes, saving recipes, and using shopping lists are available to all registered users.

5.2 Pro Subscription

The Yummonom Pro subscription unlocks unlimited AI recipe generation and additional premium features. Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring monthly or annual basis through our payment processor, Stripe.

5.3 Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your profile settings or the Stripe customer portal. Upon cancellation:

  • You retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period
  • Your account reverts to the free tier when the billing period expires
  • Recipes you created while subscribed remain in your account

Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. If you believe you have been charged in error, please contact us at support@yummonom.com within 14 days of the charge.

5.4 Price Changes

We may change subscription pricing from time to time. Existing subscribers will be given at least 30 days' notice before any price increase takes effect. If you do not agree to the new pricing, you may cancel before the change applies.

6. AI-Generated Content

Recipes, images, and other content generated by our AI are produced using third-party machine learning models (currently OpenAI). You acknowledge and agree that:

  • AI-generated content is provided for informational and entertainment purposes only and does not constitute professional nutritional, dietary, or medical advice
  • AI outputs may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions — including incorrect measurements, cooking times, or ingredient combinations
  • You are solely responsible for reviewing recipes for food safety, allergens, and suitability before cooking or consuming
  • AI-generated images are artistic representations and may not accurately depict the final dish
  • We do not guarantee that AI-generated content is original, unique, or free from similarity to existing recipes

7. User Content

7.1 Ownership

You retain ownership of content you create and submit to the Service, including custom recipe descriptions, photos, ratings, and captions ("User Content").

7.2 Licence Grant

By submitting User Content to the Service, you grant Yummonom a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content in connection with operating and improving the Service. For content you share publicly (communal visibility), you also grant other users the right to view, save, and interact with that content through the Service.

7.3 Content Standards

You agree that User Content you submit will not:

  • Infringe on any third party's intellectual property rights
  • Contain illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or defamatory material
  • Include spam, advertising, or malicious links
  • Contain personal information of others without their consent

We reserve the right to remove User Content that violates these standards without prior notice.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, branding, code, and original content, is owned by Yummonom and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service without our express written permission.

9. Prohibited Conduct

When using the Service, you agree not to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Impersonate another person or entity
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access the Service or extract data without our written consent
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks
  • Circumvent usage limits, including AI generation quotas, through technical or other means
  • Use the Service to generate content that is illegal, harmful, or deceptive

10. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party providers to deliver its functionality:

  • Stripe — payment processing and subscription management
  • OpenAI — AI recipe and image generation
  • Mailgun — transactional email delivery
  • Google Analytics — anonymous usage analytics

Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or availability of third-party services.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
  • AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or suitable for your needs
  • Any defects in the Service will be corrected

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Yummonom and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Yummonom from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the Service ceases immediately
  • We may delete your account data in accordance with our Privacy Policy
  • Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including limitations of liability, indemnification, and intellectual property) will remain in effect

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Yummonom regarding your use of the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
